01 / My story

My path here
wasn’t a
straight line.

Before I found my way into counseling, I owned and operated hotels and spent years restoring historic homes. I’ve always loved the stories that people and places carry.

Hospitality taught me how meaningful it is to feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Restoring old houses taught me patience, creativity, and respect for what came before. I loved discovering the character of a place and figuring out how to make room for its next chapter without erasing its history.

Over time, I realized that what stayed with me most wasn't the buildings or the projects—it was the people. My own experiences with grief, identity, anxiety, and major life changes also showed me the value of having a place to talk honestly and feel understood. Therapy has been a meaningful part of my life, and that experience helped lead me toward becoming a counselor.

Today, I work at All Parts Therapy Group in East Nashville, providing individual and couples counseling as a graduate intern under supervision. I bring curiosity, warmth, and a willingness to sit with complicated stories. I know that change isn't always neat or quick, and I believe we can honor where you've been while making space for where you want to go.

02 / My model of counseling

Insight into
your past.
Intention for
your future.

My approach is integrative and relational. I see the therapeutic relationship as a foundation, insight as a source of understanding, and new experiences as opportunities for change.

01

Explore the roots

Psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, and attachment perspectives help us notice how earlier relationships, losses, and experiences may influence current patterns, expectations, and emotional responses.

02

Make meaning

Narrative therapy invites us to examine the stories we inherited or learned about ourselves, separate people from problems, and identify the values and strengths that may have been overlooked.

03

Practice change

ACT, cognitive-behavioral, and exposure-informed strategies can support new ways of responding to anxiety, avoidance, and uncertainty—at a pace that is collaborative and clinically appropriate.

I believe insight and action belong together: we can honor the past while building a different relationship with the present.
03 / Clinical interests

Areas of focus.

My training and supervised clinical work have drawn me toward these concerns. Treatment is always individualized, with attention to fit, scope, and appropriate support.

01

Grief & loss

Death, anticipatory grief, complicated feelings, and finding meaning in the aftermath of loss.

02

Anxiety & OCD

Worry, intrusive thoughts, avoidance, and learning to respond differently to uncertainty.

03

Life transitions

Adjustment, divorce, identity shifts, relationship changes, and navigating new chapters.

04

Sexuality & intimacy

Sexual health questions, desire differences, shame, communication, and connection.

05

LGBTQ+ identity & relationships

Queer identity, later-life coming out, belonging, and affirming diverse relationships.

06

Trauma & family patterns

Religious or family-of-origin wounds, attachment patterns, emotional safety, and self-worth.

04 / In the therapy room

What our work
might look like.

I use interventions intentionally, with your goals and readiness guiding what we do. Conversations can be reflective and practical, often moving between meaning-making and concrete skills.

01

Pattern exploration

Mapping emotional, relational, and behavioral patterns to understand how they formed and what maintains them.

02

Narrative work & psychoeducation

Examining beliefs and stories, while using accurate, nonjudgmental education to make sensitive topics easier to understand and discuss.

03

Exposure-informed interventions

When appropriate, gradually approaching feared situations or internal experiences and reducing avoidance with a collaborative plan.

04

Grounding, communication & boundaries

Building emotional regulation skills, clarifying needs, strengthening communication, and practicing new relational responses.

05 / Professional preparation

Training &
clinical experience.

My work is informed by graduate education, clinical supervision, focused training, and ongoing curiosity about evidence-based care. I value ethical practice, collaboration, and knowing when consultation or referral best serves a client.

06 / Good questions

Frequently
asked questions.

These are a few things I want people to know about how I think about therapy, difficult conversations, and safety.

What is your approach to counseling?

I’m relational and integrative. We may explore the influence of past experiences and relationships, examine stories or beliefs that no longer fit, and practice new responses in the present. We’ll work collaboratively and adjust based on what is useful for you.

Can we talk openly about sex or intimacy?

Yes. Sexual concerns, desire, identity, relationship structures, and questions that can feel taboo deserve thoughtful, accurate, and nonjudgmental conversation. My approach is sex-positive and LGBTQ+ affirming. I am continuing specialized training and do not yet hold a sex-therapy certification.

What if I have thoughts about suicide?

You can talk about suicidal thoughts in therapy. Sharing a thought does not, by itself, automatically mean an emergency response. My goal is to understand your experience, assess safety, and work with you on appropriate support and a safety plan. Confidentiality has limits when there is serious risk of harm or another legal obligation; I would explain those limits as clearly and collaboratively as possible.

Do you use exposure therapy?

Exposure-informed work can be one part of treatment for anxiety, OCD-related concerns, or avoidance when it fits the clinical assessment and my supervised scope. We would discuss the rationale and choose gradual, collaborative steps rather than forcing an experience before you are ready.

Are you accepting clients after graduation?

My anticipated graduation is December 2026. I am currently seeing clients in a supervised internship setting, and my post-graduation practice arrangements, availability, and contact information are still being finalized. This page will be updated as those details are confirmed.
